Motherhood Wonders

"And Allah has extracted you from the wombs of your mothers not knowing a thing, and He made for you hearing and vision, and intellect that perhaps you would be grateful." An-Nahl (16:78)

Who is a Registered Early Childhood Educator?

Early Childhood Educators are professionals who study the cognitive, emotional/social, and physical development that happens during infancy, toddlerhood, preschool and school-age years. Early years educators believe that setting a strong foundation that supports resiliency, curiosity, creativity and self-regulation in young children allows them to become responsible and emotionally intelligent individuals. Early Childhood Educators also study child psychology, curriculum planning, nutrition, communication/observation skills and special needs. This knowledge enabled them to identify possible delays in a child's development, which is crucial for early intervention. They are familiar with various approaches and pedagogies to teach young minds such as High Scope, Reggio Emilia, Montessori and Waldorf.

Creating a spark for learning and curiosity is at the heart of early years education and it happens through educators setting up intentionally play-based exploration areas for children. Educators view the environment as the third teacher where children are encouraged to ask questions, wonder and record their observations through writing or drawing.  Educators scaffold by allowing learners to gradually become independent at practicing new skills. From wiping tears the first day building up to "I love you Ms. M" is the journey each educator is on. Early Childhood Educators work in a variety of settings such as childcare, schools, special education and early intervention programs, community outreach centres, Early Years Centres, parenting programs and pediatric playrooms.
