Even though this weekend we were all greeted with brisk temperatures and abundant fog all over the Bay Area the sun finally came out. Dylan and I managed to step out of Tiburon and enjoy some quality time together in San Francisco. We both had a marvelous time walking on foot (for the most part), which is in my opinion the best option to experience the diverse "neighborhoods" of the city such as the Fillmore on Pacific Heights: well-know for its old buildings given the new life by the chic fashion tenants (Marc by Marc Jacobs, Athleta, Mudpie, Alice + Olivia, etc.), the Presidio, Cow Hollow, and Alamo Square area: so freaking charming. In this neighborhood you'll see the world-famous Victorians distinguished by their design features such as the Italianate, the Stick, Queens Anne, and the Postcard Row - possibly the most photographed spot in the city, and finally Downtown: tourists galore! The place to be for shopping (we both fit right in!) including Nordstrom, J.Crew, Gap Kids, Anthropologie, and my new favorite: Industrie Denim! Industrie Denim is an industrial looking building decorated with wood floors, stylish vintage fixtures, and ultra high-tech fitting rooms, all connected through a mezzanine overlooking at the three levels stocked with the best denim, fashion, and lifestyle for women, men, and kids. If we had more time, a cable car ride would be the perfect way to see more of the area and enjoy an extra 'mommy and me' time. Maybe for the next time…
Este final de semana nós fomos recebidos com uma temperatura bem mais baixa, seguida de garoa e nevoeiros em toda a Bay Area, mas mesmo assim o sol resolveu aparecer. Apesar de tudo isso, eu e o Dylan conseguimos sair um pouquinho de Tiburon para aproveitarmos um passeio a dois em San Francisco. Nosso passeio foi a pé (na maior parte do tempo), na qual eu considero ser a melhor opção para poder desfrutar os diversos "bairros" que a cidade tem a oferecer como a Fillmore em Pacific Heights: conhecidíssima por seus edifícios antigos com cara nova devido aos chiques inquilinos da indústria da moda que neles ocupam seu espaço como (Marc by Marc Jacobs, Athleta, Mudpie, Alice + Olivia, etc.) a area do Presidio, Cow Hollow, e Alamo Square: demais de encantadora. Neste bairro você encontrará as famosas casas Vitorianas que são mundialmente conhecidas, e que distinguem-se por suas características como o Italianate, o Stick, Queens Anne, e o Postcard Row - provavelmente o local mais fotografado da cidade, e, finalmente, o Centro: só têm turistas! O local é ideal para compras (nós adoramos) incluindo a Nordstrom, J.Crew, Gap Kids, Anthropologie, e a minha mais nova favorita: Industrie Denim! A Industry Denim realmente impressiona com seu estilo industrial, decorada com chão de madeira rústica, luminárias em estilo vintage, e provadores de roupas ultra high-tech, além de ser toda conectada através de um mezanino que intermedeia os três andares, repletos dos melhores jeans, roupas e artigos para mulhers, homens, e crianças. Se tivéssemos mais tempo de sobra, adoraria poder levar o Dylan conhecer o cable car. Quam sabe numa próxima vez…
