Hello dear ones! I know there are
waaay
too many photos in this but since it was my first time visiting Calistoga I had some issues narrowing down my favorites for this post. If you are like me, please help yourself with a cup of a coffee and I hope you won't mind scrolling down the button for a few extra photos :)
We got in Sunday morning and headed to Main Street. Lunch at the local Deli and then wine tasting at
- the wine project is a co-venture of Paul Smith and the Super Bowl-winning NFL head coach, Dick Vermeil. Seriously, who would think that a celebrity like him would achieve anything this special in the world of wines? Ok, you must try the
2008 Jean Louis Vermeil Cabernet Sauvignon
, absolutely out.of.this.world! My second most favorite is the
, Frediani Vineyard, both are equally unique in taste but this one in special has a truly incredible nose! End of the day was pretty relaxing, a stroll in the city was a nice way to get to know the local shops and also to get the kids moving a bit since they were such angels playing with the iPad while mommy and daddy were having all the fun wine tasting (blink!) plus, a visit at
followed by a low key dinner at Checkers - a family owned restaurant that serves an incredibly tasty Italian cuisine.
Of course my husband and I are already dying to go back, but next time for sure we'll stay a bit longer, at least 2 – 3 days minimum so, mamasita here started doing some research on where to stay and where to
with the family, yeaa! After reading much of the local magazines such as
and
, I am hoping to come back to a few new places next time, something like this one would be pretty much like a
, or maybe
one. How amazing do these places look and who wouldn't love to soak up the skin for a few hours in a mineral hot tub?! That would be me! Olá queridas! Já estou notificada de que o post de hoje está bem servido, de fotos no caso, mas como essa foi a primeira vez que visitei Calistoga, não consegui me conter e escolher entre tantas... Acredito que se vocês forem parecidas comigo, irão servir-se de um cafezinho bem gostoso para ver a sessão de fotos :)
Chegamos na manhã de Domingo e fomos direto para a Main Street. Almoçamos na Deli local e já em seguida fomos à Vermeil Wines para uma pequena degustação de vinhos - essa vinharia é um projeto criado pelos sócios Paul Smith e o ex-treinador, vencedor da Super Bowl de NFL, Dick Vermeil. Quem poderia imaginar uma celebridade como ele seria capazde criar algo tão especial nesse setor? Ok, vocês precisam experimentar o 2008 Jean Louis Vermeil Cabernet Sauvignon, simplesmente de.outro.mundo! Meu segundo mais favorito foi o 2008 Cabernet Franc, Vinhedo Frediani, ambos únicos em sabor, mas este com um (nose) nariz mais sofisticado. Nosso final de dia foi bem gostoso, fizemos uma longa caminhada pela avenida principal para conhecermos melhor as lojas e boutiques locais e deixarmos as crianças correrem um pouco já que elas se comportaram como uns anjinhos com o iPad enquanto a mama e o papi estavam degustando vinho (piscada!), fizemos uma também uma visita ao Indian Springs e mais tarde um jantarzinho bem light no Checkers - um restaurante caseiro que serve uma cozinha Italiana maravilhosa!
É claro, meu marido e eu já estamos sonhando com a nossa segunda visita, mas da próxima vez espero que ela seja um pouquinho mais longa, no mínimo uns 2 – 3 dias, e a mamasita aqui já está se preparando e fazendo pesquisa de onde ficar e de onde hot springs com a family, uhuul! Depois de ler algumas revistas locais como esta e esta, espero poder visitar quem sabe um dia um lugar de sonho como esse, ou talvez quem sabe este aqui. Sério, lugares simplesmente de morrer e quem não adoraria poder mergulhar nessas piscinas de águas quentes e minerais? Se você estiver pensando em visitar Calistoga, não esqueça de dar uma olhadinha nesses lugares acima, e se você tiver alguma outra sugestão de aonde ficar aqui no Norte da Califórnia eu adoraria receber seus comentários!
